Go on Safari with Apple

It looks like Apple has joined a Web Browser War. They have released Beta version of Mac OS’s default web browser Safari. I need to be honest in here, I like some of Apple’s idea and Safari on PC I think it’s a very good one. I have downloaded Safari and installed it on my home PC.

First impression:

  • web browser starts fast, almost like Internet Explorer, much faster then Firefox
  • I love the interface, MAC-a-like look and feel
  • renders pages very fast
  • content looks good
  • standard (now) tab browsing
  • it looks like it using less system resources (memory, cpu) then Firefox

I’m really surprised by myself, because I thought I will stay Firefox enthusiast to it’s very or my end. But … I’ll wait for official release of Safari to have a ride on it. So far, so good. Try it yourself 🙂

Agile, Agile A…. gile

I had to change a title of this post many time, as I was unable to give it a right sound. At the end I came back to the beginning, as it usual is when I’m doing something. Article inspiration came from a short Talk on Agile development that I have attended yesterday in London. Erik Doernenburg from company called ThoughtWorks was giving the talk. Very good talk with a number of real life examples (something everyone is keen on). He approached audience with presentation of 10 Myths about Agile Software Development. But let’s start from the beginning this time 🙂

Interesting service from Nivio

I have came across an article on one of a web sites. They suggested that you can run your desktop of everywhere from your web browser. And off course there is a company that is already running a beta testing of this service. The name of a company is Nivio and you can find them at this web address: http://www.nivio.com . So I took a little time to register on their web site and after a link-clicking-from-e-mail-account-creation-confirmation my account was created.

Scrubs

You are probably thinking what does that means. It’s both, comedy series and cloths that doctors in hospitals wear. This is my favorite comedy series right now. From some time this prime place on my winning pedestal ofTV comedy was taken by “Friends”. I like to watch it still, but “Scrubs” is much more fun 🙂

eXtreme Programming

eXtreme ProgramminEveryone has come across this term. EXtreme Programming (XP). First thought I had was: Probably this is programming in extreme environment condition, like minus 20 degrees or hanging with your head upside down. I bet that many people had similar concept about XP. In practice eXtreme Programming is a basket of rules, methods and disciplines for Software Planning, Design, Development and Release.

IÂ’m not writing as an expert on this subject, just someone who recently introduced XP practices into my developer life.

Even rocks are crazy about iPod

World has gone crazy about iStuff. iMac, iPod or iSomething. Brilliant marketing strategy from Apple and nice simple design made their products one of the most popular in the world. I canÂ’t disagree that I donÂ’t like iPod Nano television commercial.

Some Google Earth enthusiasts have found rocks formation in Canada that looks like face. They couldnÂ’t agree about what is nationality of this person, but they agreed on one thing: he is connected straight into his iPod.

CanÂ’t disagree with them, it looks like that.
